A new kind of Yoga Bag

Going to Yoga class, carrying a mat, a towel, a wallet, a phone and a bottle of water is quite a tiring task, most of us will agree. No worries, there is a new way! there is a new kind of yoga bag that solves this never-ending juggling act.

Yogoco has introduced an eco-friendly yoga bag that holds it all. It holds everything you need for your practice and comes in 6 colorful and fun designs. So why is this yoga bag so different?

Gary from Asana Activewear summarizes the answer to this question:
Yogoco considered every detail to create their stylish, fully functional, eco-friendly yoga mat bag. The bag is wide enough to fit the “big black mat,” is ventilated on both ends to avoid the post-class funk, has a separate compartment for towel and clothes that is easily wiped down, and an interior pocket for keys and phone.”

Yogoco also considered our precious resources: land, water and electricity by carefully selecting the fabric from which the bag is made: 70% of the bag is made from scraps of t-shirts manufacturing process. Yogoco bag tags, business cards, postcards, and brochures are printed on recycled paper and use soy and vegetable based inks.

Unlike a lot of consumer products in the modern world, Yogoco yoga bag is not made is Asia, but here in the USA. This implies superior quality. The bag is double stitched, if not triple stitched in all places.

While the rumor about this new yoga bag is spreading quickly across the country, those girls that are first to use this bag get a lot of “OOh”s and “Ahh”s. Boydie Beener said: “When we traipsed into class, nary a stray water bottle or dragging towel in sight, we got oohs and aahs, especially when we proudly boasted that the bag was made of recycled t-shirt scraps. “How cool is that?” shouted one of our classmates and “Where did you get that again?” asked our teacher Christy”

So what is yogoco’s hoziron?
Yogoco intends to bring out a range of eco-friendly yoga accessories over the next 3 months, with a goal is to continue to deliver innovative, high quality and stylish products, while increasing the percentage of recycled content in our products.

Have You Heard of The Nia® Technique?

We are very lucky to have a wide range of talented customers at ActiveWearUSA.com. Kathy is a Nia instructor in California and I am proud to say a very happy customer of ActiveWeaUSA.com. We asked Kathy to write a small article about Nia, to share with the our community, to which she has obliged. Please see below…

I just received my Margarita Activewear Wildflower Pants, and Heart Capris, they arrived with lightening speed, and I am so pleased with them. I will enjoy wearing these colorful wears to teach Nia classes in California. If you haven’t heard of Nia, it is a fusion form of fitness that blends elements dance, martial arts and healing arts such as Yoga, into an energizing mind-body-spirit fitness program. Mind-body programs are growing in popularity, though Nia is one of the few I have found that emphasize the fitness component of cardiovascular conditioning as well as muscular conditioning, and body alignment like we experience in Yoga or Pilates.

Nia was founded by Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas back in 1983 and has changed and grown through attention and loving care, just as one might nurture a child. Once known as Non-Impact Aerobics, and later as Neuromuscular Integrated Activity, Nia, now celebrating 25 years, is known simply as The Nia® Technique. Classic Nia has a lyrical quality, classes consist of 7 cycles that are danced to music of all genres, and the music is not altered to meet specific beats per minute standards as in traditional aerobics, it is what I call “real” music. Each class begins with setting a focus and intent for the session, stepping into the space, and then participants are guided through dances to warm up, get moving, cool down, then there is floor play (not floor work), and a conclusion to each session known as with stepping out. The Nia practice is guided by the pleasure principle and teaches people to enhance their awareness of sensation and living and moving more fully. Should I Use a Yoga Mat Towel?

If you are one of the many folks that your palms and soles of your feet get sweaty during your Yoga practice and end up sliding all over the mat, causing you to lose traction with the mat, a Yoga towel could be of great benefit to you. The towel of course does not stop you sweating, but it does absorb the sweat and provides a surface that gives you more of a grip, and that prevents you from slipping. This not only makes your Yoga practice more comfortable, it also makes it much safer. It really is essential for either Bikram yoga, or fast-paced Astanga style power yoga.

An additional reason to use a Yoga mat towel, whether you are sweating or not during your yoga practice, is that the mat towel acts as a hygienic layer, almost a barrier between you and the mat itself. This is especially important if you are using a community mat as the towel will provide extra protection from possible skin infections. In any case, you should wipe down the mat after each yoga practice, even if you use a Yoga towel, as that well help to maintain a hygienic environment.
Yoga mat towels come in may different colors and weights and are available from a number of different brands. I personally like the Yogitoes towels as they have silicon dots underneath and thats what really stops the towel from moving on the mat.

Once you decide to invest in a Yoga mat towel, the following is very important:

First of all, the towel should be washed at least twice before you use it. As always wash colors separately, do not use bleach and tumble dry on low heat.

Secondly, the ideal place to put your Yoga towel is on your mat, but you can also use the towel by itself on a soft surface such as a carpeted floor.

Finally: Place silicon dot side down on top of your yoga mat. You can now enjoy your Yoga session without slipping and sliding all over the mat!
