If you have long hair then it can get in the way when you are practicing yoga.
It is distracting if you have to keep pushing your hair out of your face, and you might also get your hair caught or pulled while you are transitioning between different poses during your flow.

Here are some hairstyles that you can try for your next yoga practice.
1. Yoga Headband
If you want to keep your hair down but off your face during your yoga practice, you can try wearing a yoga headband. They come in different colors, styles and thicknesses so you can find one that suits you.
The benefit of a yoga headband is that it will absorb the sweat to stop it dripping on your face. You can use a yoga headband with lots of different hairstyles.
2. Classic French Braid
A classic french braid is a pretty hairstyle that is secure and keeps your hair out of the way. Make sure your hair is brushed and smooth. Brush it back off your face so there is no parting visible.
Take the front, top section of hair and split it into three equal parts. Keep the sections of hair taught so that your braid remains close to your head.
Cross the left section over the middle section, then cross the right section over the middle section (which began as the left section). Continue crossing the hair in this way, each time adding more hair to the section.
Add even amounts of hair from the left and right to keep the braid even. Keep braiding this way until you have all the hair in the braid. Finish off the braid and secure it with a hair tie.
If it feels too tight, you can gently tease out the braid so it is more loose against your head.
3. Twin French Braids
You can use the french braid method to create twin french braids. Brush your hair so that it is smooth then create a center parting down the middle of your head.
Tie or clip one half of your hair out of the way. With the other section, follow the process of creating a french braid. When this braid is secure, repeat the process with the other half of your hair.
4. Fishtail Braid
A fishtail is a simple hairstyle that is ideal for yoga. Start by brushing your hair so that it is smooth. Split your hair into two halves. Take one small section of hair from the outer of one of the halves.
Cross it over to incorporate it into the other half. Repeat this on the other half. Continue this process until the hair is braided, then secure it with a hair tie. Once the braid is secure you can gently tease it out to create more volume.
5. Twin Fishtail Braids
You can create twin fishtail braids using the same method as above. Once your hair is brushed and smooth, create a center parting down the middle of your head. Pin one side of your hair out of the way.
With the other side, follow the process of creating a fishtail braid. Once the braid is secure, repeat the process with the other side of your hair. Gently tease out the braids to create more volume.
6. Twisted Bun
A twisted bun keeps all of your hair out of your way while you practice yoga. You can choose where to place the bun – high on your hair, at a medium height, or a low bun.
Brush your hair and scrape it all into one place at your chosen position. Tie your hair into a ponytail. Hold the ponytail in your hand and twist it into a coil, then wrap the coil around itself to create a bun.
Secure the bun with hair grips and a hair tie. If it feels too tight, gently tease it out.
7. Messy Bun
If you don’t have much time to do your hair before your yoga class, you should try a messy bun. Gather all of your hair on the top of your head. Begin to tie it into a ponytail. Twist the hair tie once to secure the hair.
As you pull the hair through the final time into a ponytail, stop while the hair is half pulled through. Twist the hair tied and secure it around the loop of hair that you have created.
Wrap the end of the hair that is poking out of the hair tie around the bun, and tuck it into the hair tie.
8. Space Buns
Space buns are a cute hairstyle. Start by brushing your hair so that it is smooth. Create a center parting. Gather the hair on one side of your head together and tie it in a bun.
You can choose to create a twisted bun or a messy bun. Secure the bun with hair grips and a hair tie. Once the first bun is secure, gather the hair on the other side of your head. Make sure it is even with the first bun, and create a second bun. Secure the bun in place.
9. Classic Ponytail
If you want to keep it simple, you can tie your hair into a simple ponytail. Brush your hair so that it is smooth. Gather your hair on the back of your head.
Use a hair tie to secure your hair in place. You can tighten the ponytail by pulling it just above the hair tie, or loosen the ponytail just below the hair tie.
10. Twin Ponytails
It’s easy to create a cute hairstyle of twin ponytails. Brush your hair and create a center parting. Take one half of your hair and gather it at the back of your head. Use a hair tie to secure it into a ponytail.
Take the other half of your hair and gather it to the back of your head, in line with the first ponytail. Use another hair tie to secure it in place.
11. Braided Bun
This hairstyle gives your bun more texture. Brush your hair so that it is nice and smooth. Gather all of your hair high on your hair and secure it into a ponytail with a hair tie.
Braid the ponytail by splitting it into three sections, crossing the left over the middle and then right over the middle until all of the hair is braided. Secure the braid with another hair tie.
Lift the braid and twist it around itself to create a bun shape on the top of your head. Secure the bun in place with hair grips. This hairstyle also works well with a fishtail braid.
12. Braided Twin Ponytails
You can combine french braids with a ponytail in this stylish hairstyle. Create a center parting. Take one side of your hair and create a french braid down to the nape of your neck.
At this point, tie the braid so that the remaining hair is secure in a ponytail but unbraided.
Repeat this with the other half of your hair, securing the hair tie at the same place so that both sides of your hair are even. Gently tease out the braids to loosen them a little. You can also create this hairstyle with fishtail braids.
13. Fishtail Ponytail
This hairstyle adds some extra texture to your ponytail. Take a section of hair on the side of your head just above your ear. Create a fishtail braid with this piece of hair and secure it.
Repeat this on the other side of your head. Gather all of your hair, including the two braids, on the back of your head. Secure it into a ponytail with a hair tie. Undo the hair ties that secure the fishtail braids and release the braids up the top of the ponytail.
14. Braided Low Space Buns
For this practical yet pretty hairstyle, you need to start by brushing your hair and creating a center parting. Clip half of your hair out of the way. With the other half, create a french braid.
Repeat this on the opposite side. Take a french braid and twist it into a bun at the nape of your neck. Secure the bun with hair grips. Repeat this with the other french braid, ensuring that the buns are level with each other.
15. Double French Braid Ponytail
This is an easy hairstyle that looks impressive and is perfect for yoga. Begin by brushing your hair and creating a center parting. Create a french braid with one half of your hair, keeping it tight to your scalp.
The braid should start in a central position but gradually work towards the center of your head. Stop at the height that you want your ponytail to begin and secure the braid with a hair tie.
Repeat this on the other side of your hair. Take both sections of hair and hold them, carefully undoing the hair ties without releasing the braids. Gather both sections of hair together and secure them with one hair tie to create a ponytail.
