How To Start Stretching Your Ears

If you’ve recently begun to consider stretching out your ears, then chances are that you’ve got a whole bunch of questions in regards to this topic. For starters, how do you even begin stretching out your ears, and is it a complicated process?

How To Start Stretching Your Ears?

Ear stretching essentially involves stretching out holes in your ears. These typically start out as regular piercings, that are then made larger through the process of stretching.

Some of you reading this might be surprised to find that you can actually stretch your ears until they’re as wide as a tin of cola.

This process isn’t something you should take lightly, however, as it can cause a number of different health issues if not done properly. It’s therefore important to do as much research as possible before you take the plunge, so that you’re not making any missteps along the way.

You can purchase a number of different types of jewelry to wear to accommodate the stretching process, and stretchers can look really beautiful.

To find out more about the ear stretching process, simply keep reading below, as we take a closer look.

How Do I Get Started With Stretching My Ears?

Now, before you go ahead and start considering the ear stretching process, the first thing you’ll need to do in order to get started is to get your ears pierced.

You’re going to need to do this approximately 4 months before you intend to start stretching your ears, as this is how long it takes for your ears to heal fully. Starting the stretching process any earlier could pose a risk of infection.

The Items You’ll Require For Ear Stretching

Now that you’ve got your ears pierced, and you’ve waited an adequate amount of time before getting started with the stretching process, you can now move on to purchase some of the items you’ll require.

How To Start Stretching Your Ears?

Tapers

The first item that you’re going to need in order to get started with stretching your ears are some tapers. Tapers are essentially what you’re going to be inserting inside of your ear, and are the decorative element of the process.

You can purchase ones made from a whole host of different materials, including stainless steel, acrylic, and wood.

They also come in a whole host of different sizes, each of them to accommodate different stretching circumferences.

If you’re struggling to decide which material to go with, then we’d recommend investing in some steel tapers, simply because they’re the most comfortable, and they slide super easy into your ears.

Lubricant

The next item you’re going to need in order to effectively stretch your ears is some lubricant. Make sure that you’re purchasing one that’s completely natural, and it’s going to irritate the delicate surface of your skin.

We’d recommend simply purchasing some organic coconut oil in your local grocery store, and using this for the process. It smells really good too, so you don’t have to worry about any strange odors associated with your ears!

Plugs

The next thing you’re going to need in order to start stretching out your ears are some plugs. Plugs are essentially the part which is inserted into your ear lobe, in order to keep them in a circular shape. Just like the tapers, you can also buy these in a variety of different materials.

Again, if you’re just getting started with the ear stretching process, we’d recommend that you purchase a plug made of stainless steel, just because they’re renowned for being more comfortable.

Steps For Stretching Out Your Ears

Now that we’ve discussed the different items you’re going to need for the ear stretching process, we can move on to discuss some of the different steps that are associated. Make sure that you follow each of these carefully, and remember to go at your own pace.

If something feels super uncomfortable, then make sure that you stop and give your ears a break. Remember that this is a process, so you don’t want to rush it.

Step 1

The first step is to simply wash your hands thoroughly, so that they’re completely clean to get started with the process. Just use some antibacterial soap, along with some warm water, and this will stop your ears from getting any unwanted infections.

Step 2

After you’ve washed your hands thoroughly, you can now move on and start coating your ears in the lubricant of your choice.

We recommend that you use something natural such as coconut oil, but you can also use different types of lubricant that are advertised specifically for the process of stretching.

Step 3

The next step in your ear stretching journey is to actually start stretching. After you’ve coated your ear in the coconut oil, or lubricant of your choice, you can slowly begin to insert your taper.

As we mentioned before, this shouldn’t feel inordinately uncomfortable, so make sure to stop if you’re unsure. This is especially important if you notice any bleeding.

Step 4

After you’ve inserted the taper in and you’re satisfied with it, you can then go ahead and place the plug in so that it’s all fitted.

Final Thoughts

To sum up, stretching your ears is a fairly straightforward process, but you want to make sure that you’re taking all of the necessary precautions beforehand to avoid infection.
